chestnut avenue

picture shows view of the transmitting stations on bukit timah from chestnut avenue.

a place close by, which reminds me of fraser's hills, is the road leading to the chestnut avenue waterworks. you can access the road from bukit panjang. there is a small block of residential apartments, managed by permas, just as you turn left from the end of petir road. construction is still going on to link petir road to the bke.

the zhenghua park jogging trail starts from here, on the left. on the other side is the bukit timah nature reserve mountain bike trail. there are some park benches and tables but hardly anyone uses them.

as you move in, the road winds and certain sections of it have quite steep gradient. the road ends at the entrance to the waterworks, which is a protected area.

yesterday, when i drove towards the waterworks, a taxi driver and a woman, who looks like a maid, were engaged in some close-up study of the anatomy in the taxi parked by the roadside.
