cycling - pengarang to sungei rengit

have been trying to promote this but there doesn't seem to be any taker. the alternative to riding is to take the taxi from the jetty to sungei rengit. used to cost rm$25 for the trip/per taxi.

if you are using your own bike, you have to either ride it all the way to changi creek or arrange to have it transported there. the last time i went, i had this contraption to carry the bike on the car. we parked the cars near the government bungalows at fairy point. the bum boat operator charged $6 for each bike. on the return, we paid rm$6.

ths distance from the jetty to sungei rengit is slightly more than 25km. the road is paved and flat most of the way. traffic is very light; in fact, you hardly come across other vehicles on the road. there are roadside drink stalls and shops where you can make stops.

if you are in sungei rengit, you must have a seafood meal at one of the many restaurants. one which is recommended is the jade garden seafood restaurant.

just remember, if you are not staying for the night, you must be at the jetty by 4 p.m. because the immigration office closes at around that time.
