fruit & veg day 2005

our mascot for 2005 fruit & veg day was this big orange. mdm bimaljit rented it for $80. she carried it to school in her camry.

we bought apples for everyone in the school - pupils, teachers and non-teaching staff. we had one of jenmeet's pupils to don the costume and mingle with the pupils at recess time. later, i had to take his place, wearing the costume to the hall where an assembly talk was being held.

most of the pupils had their apples for recess while some saved them for eating at home. for the next few weeks, some of my pupils in 3a brought fruit to school on fridays.

the swc also started a eat fruit campaign, providing every member of the staff with a slice of fruit on the first friday of each month.
